Analysis: Former Lyon midfielder’s impressive loan spell at Lorient

Over the years, football transfers have seen a major rise in its toll. Clubs across the world target players to improve their squad. Big teams don’t make panic buys and follow their routine to sign any player. However, clubs that get promoted often spend on players who do not fit well in their system and these are eventually sold or sent on loan. Some players are also loaned out just after signing a deal with the club.

One such player has been Bournemouth’s summer signing Romain Faivre from Lyon. The Cherries spent heavily to sign the French midfielder and loaned him out to Lorient. Romain Faivre is nearing 100 Ligue 1 appearances and this is probably his best one in the top division. He is scoring goals at a consistent rate and showing signs of promise. A look at his stats and visuals that shows how this 25-year-old can play a crucial role for Bournemouth in the remaining years of his contract.

Faivre scored 13 goals in two seasons for Brest in 57 league games. At Lyon, he was not getting regular opportunities and that led to a move away from the club.

This season, Faivre has scored five times from 20 shot attempts. The shooting zones are a bit similar and a few shots from outside the penalty box have been blocked by the opposition defenders.
