Whisper it quietly, but it has been a quiet summer transfer window for PSG so far, with their only permanent signing coming in the form of 25-year-old goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. He joined for €20 million from FK Krasnodar.
At the same time, PSG have lost the services of talisman Kylian Mbappe, while fellow forward Hugo Ekitiké has also joined Eintracht Frankfurt in a €16.50 million deal. Both Kaylor Navas and Layvin Kurzawa have left the club this summer too.
However, PSG have been linked with a huge number of European and global stars, as they look to rebuild and continue their quest for a maiden UEFA Champions League title in 2024/25. But which of these are the most likely signings?
Désiré Doué, Stade Rennais
Désiré Doué is one of Europe’s most in-form stars, with the 19-year-old attacking midfielder having starred for Rennes during the previous two seasons.
The last campaign saw Doué score four goals and lay on six assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, while his ball-carrying skills and technical ability enable him to play centrally and much deeper in midfield.
He’s also a highly coveted player, with Bayern Munich one of several clubs looking to sign the playmaker this summer. However, Doué is a French-born star who is thought to prefer a move to the capital, and PSG could well secure his services with a bid of around €65M million if they choose to.
Victor Osimhen, PSG
PSG are on the hunt for a new talisman after the departure of Mbappe, to supplement their existing forward options Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos.
High on PSG’s list of priorities is Victor Osimhen, who has scored an impressive 114 goals in his 223 career games to date. He also struck 76 goals in 133 appearances for Napoli at a rate of 0.57 per 90 minutes, but looks set to leave Naples during the summer.
However, Arsenal are also keen on Osimhen and are thought to be in pole position to secure his services if they choose to pursue the deal. So, PSG may face an almighty battle here, while a price upward of €80 million may prove problematic even for the Parisians.
Bruno Fernandes
Whether you like to wager with the best Bitcoin Poker Sites or reputable online sportsbooks, you’ll probably get long odds on Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes joining PSG this summer.
However, the 29-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation this summer, while he has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League. United also have to sell players to raise further funds this summer, as they remain somewhat hamstrung by the EPL’s profit and sustainability rules.
Last season also saw Fernandes create 114 chances in just 35 Premier League matches (the most of any player), while the Portuguese also contributed 10 goals and eight assists from midfield.
He would certainly thrive in Ligue 1 and could become a star in the PSG midfield, while his services could be secured for around €62 million. The Parisians could also use Fabian Ruiz as a makeweight to help seal the deal!
